Never Enough Time!!

Oh, this weekend is going to be crazy.

Matt got the second set of shelves up in the kitchen last night, which was the one major project holding us back. Now that's done, we can bust our tails getting the rest of the house in order.

A week till company comes!

In addition to that, I've become ambitious, deciding to make a bunch of things this weekend.

First up is a triple-ginger pound cake for Matt. It uses fresh, ground and crystalized. (He's a big ginger fan)
There's also going to be cookies, and another cake of some kind...and I'm considering making these (Cherry Cream Cheese Tarts)

for my in-law's, too.

And then we just decided that we need to make Indian food. We're planning to make Murgh Tikka Masala (using Veat for me), Dum Aloo, and Puris....mmmmm. And making it ourselves, we can take charge of just how hot it is (I'm a member of the 'super-mild, please' club, while Matt goes much hotter).

I'll let you know how it all turns out...

- Daring Bakers: Gingered Bostoni Cream Pie
This is my second Daring Bakers challenge, and despite not caring at all for custard/pastry cream, I think they came out pretty well. This month, we were to make Bostoni Cream Pies...a sort of twist on the Boston Cream Pie. I was allowed to mess around...

- Just Desserts: Ginger-pecan Roulade With Honey-glazed Pecans
This is my very first submission to Just Desserts. Brand new event, hosted by The Web Sorceress (think we're related?), and right up my alley. I have an almost OCD-like need to bake, you know. Have you made something sweet? Fantastic. Send her a...

- No Need For Take-out
Matt's had a hankering for Indian food lately. We'd planned to make some over the weekend, but I ended up with an ear infection and felt lousy. So what happened? Matt took charge, and made a wonderful dinner! Borrowing heavily from Indira, he...

- Happy Anniversary Dinner
So, to celebrate our three years of Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam... oops, sorry; wedding flashbacks!...we dropped Alex off with his grandparent's (who were quite happy to...

- Leave It To The Professionals
Since we just can't seem to get a decent dish from our collective cooking efforts, we decided to go with the pros for New Year's Eve. Ordering from our favorite Indian restaurant, Kashmir, we got Aloo Mattar for me and Lamb Rogan Josh...
