What I Ate

Sam decided to record everything she ate last week, and I agreed to join in. I did not photograph drinks, because I'm very much a water, tea and milk kind of person...and that gets boring.

I'm ashamed of the food below: I don't usually eat like this. But, except for Monday, we spent all of last week cleaning the house and cooking for Saturday's dinner party. Neither of us wanted to do any side cooking, for us, so we ate what we could...including frozen convenience foods. We also ate out twice, which is outrageous for us.
I think we usually dine out once every six weeks, and last week? Twice. Crazy times.

I also forgot, repeatedly, to photograph my morning bagel. So, I used the same two pictures throughout the whole thing.

I've had the darndest time with my photos lately: I don't know if it's Picasa or Hello, but my photos aren't loading properly, which explains my delay. It also explains the mess you see down there. Click on them, if you want to see. Descriptions will be found after I can decipher my own photos...

- With A Hurry On The Curry
Oooh; that was bad, wasn't it? Sorry 'bout that. I always get stuck on the titles. And all I could think of was the turkey curry from Bridget Jones. Yeah, I'm that desperate. It's been an interesting first week of 'no dairy'....

- Irish Food For My Irish Grammy
My grandmother came down for a visit last week/weekend. It had been more than a year since I'd last seen her, so I was pretty happy about the visit. I made sure to feed her well, and on the final night of her trip, I cooked up an Irish dinner. Boille-stuffed...

- How About Italian?
I've been getting a lot of use out of the recipes I see on FoodTV lately; particularly Giada De Laurentis's Everyday Italian offerings. Sometimes, I will make every dish she features on an episode. Other times, I'll mix and match. Recently,...

- Celebratory Dinner
Happy House-iversary to us! It's exactly one year since we bought the house, and we still love it. We're still working on it, but it's more and more 'ours'. To celebrate, I made a special dinner for us: wild rice, cooked in vegetable...

- Lady Of The Bagel: A Quest Begins
I need to bring lunch to school almost on an everyday basis. While I'm a big fan of a nice salad, I'm very much a bread person as well - no Atkins for me here! I just cannot fathom that anyone would like to live without a daily dose of wheat! ...
