WDB: Catching Up
We've missed the past few WDB's, either from busy schedules or illness. So, I figured lots of puppy pictures would make up for it.
At the moment, we're down to 4. Fluffy's owner came by and grabbed him just today. Don't know if that will last, but for now, it's the original 3 + Duke.
It's not as if you've been missing much; this is still pretty much what they all do. But, Wicklow looks so darn cute when he sleeps!
Donegal continues to be a constant companion: there is no place (in the home) that I go and she doesn't. It's sweet. She's an excellent body pillow at night, too.
As you can see here, Duke is definitely (and finally) putting on weight. He's doing well; after several months, he's starting to get the hang of cuddling. He likes to leap onto the bed with us when the other dogs are outside, and get his belly rubbed.
This is the usual scene, when we come home. A puppy line-up. It's so funny to see all those faces peering out over the fence at you. Poor Doolin can't even get his nose over the top.
Despite the barred teeth, these guys really do get along well. They play together, and when they greet Duke, my three generate enough wind power with the wagging tails to cool off a room in mid-July.
This is the puppy area of the enclosed backyard. They've done a real number on it...no grass grows, many holes have been dug. It's a mess. One day, we'll figure out a way for the yard and puppies to live in harmony. For now, it's bare patches.
Donegal is a really attractive dog. She just doesn't photgraph well. Plus, she's so eager to see me, she won't sit long enough for the camera to take her picture!
Wicklow's a lot of fun to watch. He loves being outside, and I love the way his white fur practically glows in the sunlight.
And what better way to end this than with a smiling dog?
See the other pups by visiting Sweetnicks later tonight...
Blog Party#20 is underway, and this month, we're taking on the Shower! Turn fabulous treats into bite-sized party food, and stock up on fruit juice, because March is all about food and drinks for the Bridal or Baby Shower.
All you have to do is make ****
AT LEAST ONE appetizer AND cocktail**** (
that's a minimum of one EACH); take some photos, and write about it. Get your entries to me no later than Thursday, 15 March: either leave a link here in the comments, or send it to me at
thehappysorceress at gmail dot com. I'll post the round-up on St. Patrick's day, 17 March. Hope you'll join us!

Wdb: Showing Up Early
We keep missing WDB; usually we get so busy over the weekend I just can't find time to post, period. But, I had a painfully early start today (followed by an even more painful one tomorrow), so I was determined to join in this week. Above, you can...

Pasta Shells With Smoked Chicken & Artichoke Cream
My in-laws took turns visiting my brother- and sister-in-law a couple weeks ago (she's on bed rest, poor girl), and while my MIL was away, we fed Matt's dad. I'd found this recipe in (I think) March's Bon Appetit. It's so easy; shells...

This & That Fry
Ever since my visit to Georgia last summer, and the discovery ofwonton noodles, I've been able to eat many more Asian dishes. (See, I have this weird texture issue...hate squishy noodles...) Something I really like, and that Matt makes, is a sort...

Good Morning, Sunshine
Some days, a fancy breakfast can be too much. Mondays, for example. Days like this, a simple coffee cake is exactly what you need. There's something so perfect about the simple batter, and the aroma of the crumb topping. So easy to prepare, and...

Wdb: Lotsa Pups
Donegal and Wicklow hanging out with buddy bear in the guest room. Duke does his patented 'sad dog' routine for us. Fluffy, looking fluffy. Donegal and Doolin...two heads better than one? In their case, it can't hurt. See what all the...
