Hey Hey It's Donna Hay#3:

I never break a promise, so when I told Clare I'd join this round of HDH, I knew I'd better come through.

It's been a busy month, and I almost let it this event slip past. Thankfully, I remembered over the weekend, so here's my version of our subject, a slightly Middle Eastern take on the original: Rose Water and Pistachio Checkerboard Snap Cookies.

I added rose water to the 'plain' part of the dough, and finely chopped pistachios to the 'flavored' half. A bit of food coloring, as well!

Ready to go...

And the cookies themselves.

There you are, Clare, as promised!
