Gourmet Cheating

Despite having a perfectly lovely dish on our menu for Tuesday, neither of really felt like cooking.

Fortunately, for times such as these, we keep 'emergency supplies' around.

Such as the somewhat gourmet frozen pasta offered at Earth Fare.

So, with a bit of cream sauce, dinner was a very small plate of very filling Garlic and Gorgonzola Ravioli.

Thank goodness for emergency supplies!

- Pasta Puttanesca: Recipe
It's not often that my other half requests pasta for dinner. If he did, we would probably eat pasta every day. Even the family I lived with in Italy was amazed at my appetite for it. Though we lived in Florence, we ate risotto and soup as a...

- Someone's In The Kitchen With Alex: Tortellini With Sun-dried Tomatoes
I found this one hiding in the cute little recipe box I'd picked up at Sur La Table many years ago. Something I'd written down at least seven years ago, but never made. A pasta salad, using cheese tortellini, basil, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes,...

- Dinner With Frank & Dinah
When setting up the menu for the month, I decided to try out a recipe for Romaine Salad with Avocado "Caesar" Dressing (which, ultimately, wasn't anything exciting). I wanted something kind of traditional to go with, and started hitting the 'retro/oldies'...

- Spaghetti With Chorizo & Almonds
Still mining my magazines, this fantastic dish came from a recent Gourmet. This recipe treats the spaghetti like rice, and it's amazing. I made two versions. One pot for Matt, the other for me. No way I was missing out on this. Thinly sliced garlic...

- Maybe Not 30 Minutes, But Close!
Due to some issues Thursday, we postponed our weekly grocery shopping trip and went out Friday. Friday was also the day Alex decided he did not, in fact, need to sleep during nap time. We didn't get started until around six, and had three stores...
