Food Sites

I love cookbooks! But lately I find myself spending more time looking for recipes on the web. The 2 top sites I use are:

www.epicurious.com
www.foodtv.com

Epicurious has great sources and reviews--very important for getting a feel for how a recipe is going to turn out before you try it. Food TV has excellent searching capabilities.

If you have cuisine related questions, I recommend the Craigslist food forum (got to www.craiglist.com then go to forums and click on "food") You can ask any question and get rather quick responses--everything from "I have too many beets what do I do with them?" to "I'm going to Gary Danko for dinner what do I order?" A couple other sites I also recommend are:

www.foodandwine.com
www.recipesource.com

Welcome new readers! Today I woke up to discover this blog had been mentioned in two places--at Elise's web site Simply Recipes and also at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. I have to say, it is awfully nice to be noticed. This blog is almost...

- On The Road Again
Subscribers to the Cooking with Amy newsletter already know that I am going out of town for a few days. In fact I'm heading up to Oregon to see some Shakespeare plays in Ashland and up the coast to visit with my adorable niece and nephew. As usual,...

- More Food Blogs
The wonderful thing about surfing food web sites is you get to be an armchair traveller. There are many places I would love to go and visiting certain sites, blogs in particular, gives me a window into those places and what life there, especially culinary...

- New Recipe Search Engine
Thought you all might be interested in this press release for a new recipe search engine called FoodieView. I just took a quick look and it looks pretty good. It seems to cover quite a few sites including Epicurious, Recipezaar, About, AOL (which includes...

- Network Neutrality
Food bloggers around the Internet are staging a protest today against the Communications Opportunity, Promotion and Enhancement Act of 2006, a US bill backed by telecom and cable companies that could eliminate so-called Net Neutrality. Under the new...
