And off she goes...

I'm on another 'kick'; this time it's Nigel Slater's Real Food.

I have to thank Niki for this one; her recent post on cookbooks made me drag it out and give it another look-through.

First meal was Pasta with Spicy Sausage, Basil and Mustard, and Parmesan Bread.

Nice way to start, let me tell you!

Would you believe we actually forgot to sprinkle the Parmesan on the garlic bread? It was still pretty good, though. And the herbs for dinner came from the garden...

The pasta was wonderful. Italian sausage (with Boca Italian Meatless Sausages for me), crumbled and browned in olive oil, add white wine and cook, then add cream, red pepper flakes, salt and basil. Toss with a tube pasta.

Oh, man...so good! Creamy, with a touch of heat. And very filling.

So, two recipes down, sixteen to go!

- Italian Sausage Meatballs Recipe
I could eat spaghetti and meatballs every night of the week. Of course my laundry bill would be astronomical. There are cleaning products for removing every possible stain including wine, coffee, ink and blood, but no one has invented a product to remove...

- Penne With Rapini & Italian Sausage Recipe
I know there are other things to do with rapini but I am stuck in a happy rut. I always eat it exactly the same way. Rapini also called broccoli rabe looks like a leafy miniature broccoli and has a slight bitterness to it that marries well with the richness...

- Rigatoni With Sausage And Tomato Cream Sauce
Friday night's dinner: lucky me, Matt took over! A recipe from Food & Wine (you must be a subscriber or news stand buyer to access, so if you'd like the recipe, just let me know); Rigatoni with Sausage and Tomato Cream Sauce. We've had dishes...

- Cheesy Pasta
And I keep working through Nigel Slater's Real Food... This time, Pasta with Four Cheeses. Now, we've tried countless baked, multi-cheese pasta dishes in the past. And I usually have the same problems with them: cheeses don't blend, too heavy,...

- Just Buy The Book, Already!
Here's another wonderfully simple, and fast, recipe from Giada De Laurentis. Penne with Sun-dried Tomato Pesto Wow. Talk about an easy meal! I even waited until Matt was home to start cooking, and we still found ourselves sitting at the table,...
